Profile[]
Appearence[]
Robi is almost visually indentical to both shape and form to Zidane but to help distinguish their similar appearence, Robi wears a purple gilet with a gold trim at the bottom with black leather accents around the shoulders and back while his collar sports a purple ribbon, loosely tied to a knot and with silver dogtags dangling on top.
His jodphurs are also matching in purple whilst held up by a series of black belts, which also mounts a dark brown holster for his firearm.
He also wears two large cuffed brown and white boots with a low heel and the cuffs with a purple and gold color scheme while his gloves are a maroon-brown.
Whilst Tranced, his fur colour becomes of a platinum color.
Personality[]
"Unless its a sly eagle, you f***ing shoot it." ~ Robi
Unlike Zidane, Robi detests the pursuit for girls and instead is indulged with the ways of machinery and tech and even going as far as trying to 'teach' his less educated accompliances.
Not wanting to be a leader, despite being slightly older than his twin, Robi follows loyally and is a devoted follower, often letting Zidane be the head of the pack, with him not far behind. However, he is a strategists and would give Zidane tips and suggestions to how they can defeat a paticularly difficult foe. With this loyalty, he is extremely supportive to those he cares about. Even if his siblings are enemies, he would spare and try and rescue them from their selfish morals.
He often seldoms go the way of the sword, seeing them as too simple for his taste. He finds himself more at home, staying at range and using the most of his technological wonders against his opponent.
Story[]
Years ago, Robi was created as part of a project conducted by an ancient race of beings known as the Terrans; Their world was decaying due to their core of life reaching the end of it's lifespan. In a desperate bid to continue their legacy, they made an android by the name of Garland and left their souls in his care.
Garland's missions was simple; To find and consume a much younger planet to revitalalise the dying world of Terra through the use of a Fusion spell. A candidate was already found and so began the process of disrupting it's newly formed Life Crystal, the source of the world's means to spawn all matters of creatures, and weakening it enough for Terra's to consume it entirely.
The process was painstakingly slow and was also destructive as Garland attempted to infuse it at some point. It refused and caused a catastrophe that nearly costed both the planets. Instead, he insists on creating the Genomes, artifical beings whom would be given the souls of their masters and walk across Terra after the process was complete. To help the fusion spell, Garland created a small series of special genomes destined to be the vanguard of a vicious assault that would invoke mass destruction across all of Gaia.
Kuja was the first of many and was given the mission to enact chaos. He was never born as a child due to being a mere prototype yet he was still capable of getting the job done.
Eventually, Garland learns of the emotional power of Trance and since Kuja wasn't given a childhood, couldn't reap its benefits. Instead he was succeeded by not one but two genomes; Robi and Zidane.
Robi and Zidane were created to use the fullest extent of their newfound emotional powers via both childhood and the fact that they are true twin brothers; Where their committment to brotherhood would solidify their Trance to a new level of power. However, he realised that he could do more with the Genomes, more than that Kuja could ever muster, and of the knowledge of the fusion spell;
He elected on the idea of fusing two souls to hopefully merge their emotions and history into one. Hoping to push the limits of emotions far beyond what was expected out of the vessels. He originally started with Robi first, to futureproof his idea in the event of a catastrophy, and sourced two souls. One of which bore innovative ideas before their soul was kept in Oeilvert for safe keeping.
Together with a viceral remains of a vengeful criminal, Garland hoped to create a viciously smart Genome who would use their supreme intellect to cause widespread destruction across Gaia; Using a scaled-down version of the prominent Fusion Spell, the two were casted into the young Genome's body and began to manifest into a sentient, living being with no memory of his past. The design behind this was that Robi would also be modified to include small parts of Trance belonging to others, especially those he has grown close to but would have to experience small fragments of their memories in order to do so.
As Robi grew sentience, he learned of Garland's intentions with him and his peers, harbouring a great intelligence, as a result of his twin souls, and would plot a means of escape; Hoping to take his twin brother with him. It did not go well for he was caught and sent to feel the wrath of his creator for his insubordination.
Infuriated by Robi's defiance, he subjects the genome to agonising repent by electrocuting him; ripping through his bone-aching body with unbelievable voltage and causing electrics burns all over his body. Once the torment ended, the young Genome was then casted to the deeper reaches of space, never to be heard off by his siblings ever since.
Abilities[]
Robi uses Guns in battle and, as a physical attacker, does not use Magic Points (MP). Instead, in lieu in his position as Machinist, uses Tactic Points (TP).
Name | Cost | Description | Weapons |
---|---|---|---|
Grenade | 10 TP | A handheld explosive. Auto-executes when targeted by Eat or Swallow. If successful, results in an Instant KO. Otherwise, deals 500 fire elemental damage to a target. | Grenade, Bomb |
Rocket | 20 TP | Self propelled grenade. Unable to counter Eat or Swallow but inflicts 1200-2000 elemental damage across enemy party. Does single damage against large enemies but also a 10% boost vs. rogue Eidolons. | Bazooka, Rocket Launcher |
Missile | 25 TP | Guided Projectile, high accuracy stat. Greater accuracy versus flying targets. Works well with Designate. | Magic Launcher |
Designate | 10TP | Choose a single target for eradication. Higher accuracy and speed checks against the enemy. Some attacks may be affected by the ability. | Laser Pointer, Spotting Goggles |
Deadeye | 40 TP | Marked for Death. The shot is always a critical hit and inflicts a random debuff, depending on the target. Also reduces Armor and Speed. | Longshot Rifle, Sniper Scope |
Aegis Gun | 50TP | Deploy a friendly 'monster' to the Party. Automatically engages enemies with upgradeable weapons and equipment, or heals allies if applicable. | Sentry Gun |
As natural for a Machinist, Robi can research, equip and unlock new firarms via the 'Research Menu' accessible via a Synthesis Shop. By acquiring materials from slain monsters, Robi can produce and equip rifles and equipment, as well as new variations thought up from combat experience. In simple terms, the more a weapon is used, the more powerful upgrades, it can acquire.
A well grinded Robi could figuratively become a one-man-army, able to inflict serious damage against non-electrical foes but despite his monumental development potential, his basic stats go up lesser than a Black Mage during levelling up; Setting him as the 'Glass Cannon' of the party. While his low HP may be unattractive to novice players, more grizzled users may find his upgrade capabilities very strategic when going up against difficult foes.
Arsenal[]
- Sparkshot: The first crude weapon assembled hastly after slaying the first Bomb, in Greenroot Cave. Robi acquires enough scrap to produce this weapon. It has low accuracy and damage stats but it may prove viable for future upgrades or maybe a hidden schematic long thought to be hidden for eons.
- Boltshot: Modular bolt-action rifle that serves as a decent mid-game rifle throughout Robi's adventure. Admirable stats makes it a seasonable choice, making it great against most melee characters. It can also unlock and be upgraded with various components to give it an adaptive edge in combat. Compatible with Deadeye.
- Spit Rifle: A Mist Powered Assault Rifle. Highly accurate and can use a variety of empowered ammunition that makes it a top-tier rifle, making a it formidable force on the field. It is also the only weapon to utilise Smitium Bullets; A rare ammo type that sees it yield triple damage output versus Demon and Undead forces but belittle elsewhere. Material is more scarce for the potentially devastating upgrades available.
- Bazooka: Two handed rocket launcher firing standard RPG Missiles. Does not inflict extra damage vs. Eidolons.
- Rocket Launcher: Upgraded bazooka with higher accuracy. Its rockets does inflict extra damage vs Eidolons.
- Magic Launcher: Fires homing rockets against targets. Superb accuracy but lower damage. Does inflict extra damage against Flying enemies but not against Eidolons.
Trance[]
When Robi enters Trance, his Skill Gunplay becomes Zest, giving him a limited number of devastating abilities, far more powerful than Dyne, but these can have some serious consequences if not used properly.
Name | Effect |
---|---|
Plasmoid Burst | A torrent of ultra-hot energy blasts are fired at the target. Can distintegrate armor and flesh if aimed correctly. |
Nova-Missile | Superior variant of Solution 9. Six homing yellow comets spawn and propel towards the targets. They have incredible seeking strength and have limited pathfinding capabilities. |
Final Solution | Powerful, single shot particle beam. The power is a true manifestation from the combined power of Robi's Hybrid soul. All targets caught within will be obliterated and stronger beasts left with crippling injuries. The stamina used to maintain the monumental energy costs will leave Robi winded and next to unconciousness. |
Soul Reaper. | This was actually a biological augmentation by Gurla. The implants give Robi the ability to brutally extract one's soul by simply stabbing his hand into the body and rip it out.
What he will do with it depends on instruction otherwise, he may 'consume' it to boost his already empowered state. |
Etymology[]
The forename 'Robi' is a shortened version of 'Robii' which translates to 'Robbie'.
His unique Trance abilites Zest refers to one with great enthusiasm and energy. Hinting to Robi's behaviour towards adventure.
